What does a pulse survey report include?

A pulse survey report covers the overall engagement score and how it moved since the last round, driver-level scores, participation rate, and a sentiment split of open-text comments into positive, negative and neutral. From there you can filter to a single team, location or question to see which group is moving the headline number.

How do you read a pulse survey heatmap?

Read a heatmap by column first, then by row. Each column is an engagement driver and each row a team or segment, so scanning down a column shows which teams are struggling on that driver, and scanning across a row shows where a single team's problems cluster. The lowest-scoring cells are where to start, not the lowest overall score, because a weak driver in one large team can drag the company average without being a company-wide problem.

How often should you review pulse survey results?

Review results after every pulse round, and treat the trend across at least three rounds as the real signal. A single round tells you where you stand; three tell you which direction you are moving and whether anything you changed made a difference. Teams running monthly or quarterly pulses typically review each round at manager level and take the trend to leadership once a quarter.

Can you export pulse survey reports for leadership?

Yes. The threshold holds everywhere results are sliced, including heatmaps, filters and exports.
